We climbed the mountain like we usually do.
We had passed through the forest and were about halfway from the center of the mountain range.
So far, we have been fine.
The mercenaries we ran into occasionally warned us about the 'Freak,' but it did not faze us as it wasn't our first time witnessing their frenzy.
Now I didn't give it much thought.
The thought of encountering any other monsters didn't matter either.
Our travel pace doubled as we did not encounter any monsters.
This was good.

"I heard there are so many monsters that it is normal to call the North the country of monsters."
It had been a week without us running into monsters roaming the mountain range.
It felt too good to be true that we hadn't run into a small one.
I was beginning to understand why some mercenaries had turned to hunting people while badmouthing...
