The animal they rode went by the name of Nezha. That monster, which brought to mind the name of a God from another world, boasted a speed that no one in the desert could surmount.
Not unless they were a swordmaster or a great wizard.
"Hahahahaha!"
My brow furrowed at the ring of their exuberant laughter. I didn't want to hear that sound.
I motioned for the party to stop.
"Close your eyes, and keep them shut until I give you the signal."
And just like that, I watched the group close their eyes one by one.
I glanced over them to ensure they obeyed and stopped at Beatrice, who had now closed her eyes as well.
"Oh. Bess, you don't have to close your eyes. Wizards are fine."
Her eyes widened at my words.
And soon enough, she looked as though she’d understood the meaning behind what I said.
"Huh, what is it? Why are they fine?"
