The court in the underground prison was above a deep lake. The lake was formed from the mana water running underground. It was at least forty meters deep and as wide as a few soccer fields put together. The court floated in the middle of the lake. A hunter rowed a canoe.
“Eub! Eub!”
Kang Min, Yojimbo and Yamazaki were dragged behind the canoe in the water, still handcuffed and chained. The lake water had a unique ability of taking away a hunter’s mana. The more Kang Min, Yamazaki and Yojimbo struggled in the water, the more mana the lake water consumed.
“Bring them up.”
Yojimbo was the first to be pulled up to the court floor. Yamazaki and Kang Min were next. A witch doctor sat in the middle of the court. A group of muscular hunters surrounded the witch doctor for protection. The court floor shook with the water of the lake. The court was like a boat.
“Are you the invaders who tried to sell out the Liberian president?” asked the witch doctor. There were strange markings around his eyes. Each time he spoke, the tattoos moved.
“I didn’t! How many times do I have to tell you I came here to give information, not take it?!” shouted Yojimbo. ...
