Twelve-year-old Kyung-soo lived at the Bluebird Orphanage.
Born to a Korean father and a Filipino mother, Kyung-soo eventually came to the Bluebird Orphanage at the age of 11 after suffering abuse and violence from his father.
His mother, who fled to the Philippines from her abusive husband, returned to Korea for a while a few years ago but could not take Kyung-soo due to practical problems.
Kyung-soo, traumatized by the experience, closed his heart to the extent that he did not say a word for six months, even after entering the Bluebird Orphanage.
Director Kang An-na looked at Kyung-soo with sadness in her eyes.
"Maybe because he experienced abuse, he grew up way too quickly. It's a sad thing. A child should be a child..."
"It looks like he's troubled by something."
"He doesn't look well these days, but he won’t answer, even if I ask what's wrong."
At Kang An-na's worried words, Kyu-ha's eyes turned to Kyung-soo, who was drawing alone in a corner.
"I'll speak to him.”
Strangely, Kang An-na was pleased because she knew that the children quickly opened their hearts to Kyu-ha.
