May 5th, Children's Day.
Like Christmas, Children's Day was a day that children looked forward to so much that they found it hard to sleep the night before.
It was a day full of merriment and joy. They looked forward to the toys they would get, the food that would be prepared, and the fun time with their family.
However, Children's Day was a little different for orphanage children.
These children also dreamt of toys and family outings, but most of them held themselves back and pretended to be indifferent on the outside.
The orphanage children were now used to it.
They knew too well from an early age that orphanage teachers would be in trouble if they went out of their way on the day.
