The operation kicked off smoothly. There was nothing particularly difficult or unusual. It was the same thing Ian and the others had always done.
Ian followed them to the very end and stayed alert. He could sense the surrounding mana and inhaled them into his body little by little.
The amount of mana he was able to inhale was low, and he couldn’t completely absorb that much, but all this mana would accumulate and later turn into a huge amount.
Hours went by just like that.
The monsters didn't emerge. If things were how they used to be, they would’ve bumped into some several times now. It was strange that there were noticeably fewer monsters.
Their tension naturally decreased, and their guard began to ease a little.
Meanwhile, Jamie stealthily approached Ian.
“Ian.”
“Yes?”
“How is it? You good?”
“Everything’s fine. Last time, I walked with three times the baggage I’m carrying now."
"It’s much better than before, isn’t it?”
"Well… it’s not hard. But shouldn’t you stay in your post?” Ian asked, to which Jamie smirked.
"You still don't know us well."
