Chapter 0

The World of Immortals’ Chief Master and Council Elder, Hyegwang, sighed heavily.

His eyes strained as he glanced at the documents on the table.

Disciplinary Order

Name: Wei Jicheon

Position: Level Five Martial Immortal

Offense Statement: Blackmail, Assault, and Business Obstruction

The following punishment is to be imposed as the aforementioned immortal is guilty of obstructing the business of Jianghu (the Immortal World) through coercion and assault.

Punishment order: Stripped of position and evicted.

Cheong Su, Chairman of the Immortals Disciplinary Committee

Wei Jicheon was an immortal specially appointed by the Jade Emperor himself.

Known as the Heavenly Demon, he was the leader of the Heavenly Demon Cult in the living world, and he was also the first person in history to unify the martial world.

As he reached the level of Grand Sword Master at the young age of 120, the Jade Emperor regarded his martial prowess highly and appointed him to Martial Immortal, a first for Jianghu.

'If only he could fix his temper….'

Hyegwang thought to himself.

Wei Jicheon lived up to his nickname “the Crazy Martial Immortal.”

After ascending to heaven as an immortal, he disrupted its society with the mindset of “the strong win, the weak lose.”

This was the reason and cause for many of the disruptions he caused to business conducted in Jianghu.

In the end, Cheong Su, the fifth head of the elders, filed a complaint to the Jade Emperor, as the spokesperson for the immortals. The Jade Emperor had no choice but to order a total suspension of Wei Jicheon’s duties.

At that time, Hyegwang was quietly investigating Cheong Su, who himself was an immortal that dominated most of Jianghu’s power and warred with the Jade Emperor. However, Wei Jicheon, his duties now suspended, caused a dust-up with Cheong Su and blew up more than half of the latter’s office.

This resulted in most documents relating to Cheong Su's corrupt practices being destroyed, and this left Hyegwang with no choice but to postpone his investigation.

Cheong Su, furious about his destroyed office, referred Wei Jicheon to the disciplinary committee, and the results from that committee were now sitting on Hyegwang's desk.

'The plan’s all screwed up.'

He lamented in his mind.

Hyegwang sighed again.

The decision had, however, already been made. There was nothing more he could do.

Hyegwang shook his head as if to shake off the worrisome thoughts and stood up from his chair with the documents in his hand.

Since Wei Jicheon had caused trouble, he had to report it to the Jade Emperor and finalize the disciplinary process according to Jianghu’s law.

***

The Jade Emperor's office.

The Jade Emperor was sitting on his dragon throne with his eyes closed.

The immortal Cheong Su was from the Wu-Tang Clan.

Although it was after Cheong Su’s ascension, Wei Jicheon was the first to attack the Wu-Tang Clan when he appeared in the martial world.

Few knew about the specific details. It was said that a minor dispute at the guest house led to a war between the Wu-Tang Clan and the Heavenly Demon Cult, which then led to the Battle of Good and Evil.

The Wu-Tang Clan had lost many of their young elites because of Wei Jicheon’s actions, and in the end, they were forced to surrender and had to go into hiding.

Given these circumstances, it was an open secret that Cheong Su strongly opposed the special recruitment of Wei Jicheon. He had been the main culprit behind the Wu-Tang Clan’s decline, even though Cheong Su had cut off his connections with the martial world when he became an immortal.

"It has come to this at last."

The Jade Emperor awoke from his thoughts at Hyegwang’s words.

"So I see… it ended up like this. It is such a shame, I had big expectations of him."

Hyegwang's eyes grew cold, his expression blank.

"What do you mean by that, sir?"

"You don’t have to worry about it. Anyways, now that the situation has ended up like this..."

At that moment, they sensed someone approaching.

"My Jade Emperor, Cheong Su, and five other elders have something to report."

"Tell them to come in."

After a short while, the door opened, and the immortal elders of Jianghu, led by Cheong Su, entered a short procession.

Hyegwang grew uncomfortable upon seeing Cheong Su's shameless expression, but he kept his own carefully free of emotion.

Cheong Su glanced at Hyegwang before lowering his head to the Jade Emperor.

"My Lord. I believe you've already seen Wei Jicheon's documents?"

"I have seen them."

In response to the Jade Emperor's answer, Cheong Su nodded.

"Many of the immortals of Jianghu condemn his atrocities. I think it’s only right to punish him."

"But Cheong Su, do you really have to go this far?"

"It has already been decided by the disciplinary committee. If you continue to protect him and leave him alone despite his crimes, Jianghu’s system will collapse."

At Cheong Su’s prompting, the other elder immortals knelt down.

"We ask that he be punished."

The Jade Emperor closed his eyes tightly.

There was no one to side with him except Hyegwang in this room. He also knew that most of the power in Jianghu had already been passed onto Cheong Su.

The Jade Emperor was lost in thought for a while before he finally opened his mouth to speak.

"At your request, I declare that he is stripped of his position and is to be evicted from Jianghu."

"Amitābha…."

As the Jade Emperor gave the order, Hyegwang clasped his hands together and quietly recited a mantra. The old habit had unconsciously grasped him.

"And we believe it is right to destroy his martial ability too."

"That’s enough."

"But sir….?"

The Jade Emperor raised his hand to stop Cheong Su from continuing.

Cheong Su was dissatisfied. However, he couldn't disobey the Jade Emperor’s orders in front of everyone, so he decided to put up with it for now.

After a while, the Jade Emperor, now left alone in his office, picked up the sanction order for Wei Jicheon.

'I have a reason for my doings. I'll see you again someday, so don't be so offended.'

The order burned and was quickly reduced into ash as it fell from his hand.

"It would be better to phrase it as a long-term business trip rather than exile."

Thus, Wei Jicheon was exiled from Jianghu. Or, as the Jade Emperor phrased it, he was forced to go on a long-term business trip.
