The Reid's actions made me smile without realizing it.
'They say there's always a way out.'
I knew what lay beneath my feet without even looking at it.
"This is your nest."
What does this mean?
The thing that had touched my feet was its egg.
Then what was I to do?
I planned to get out of there by threatening it with the egg.
Grrrr.
The Reid warily bared its teeth, wanting to tear me apart but unable to approach me.
I slowly lowered myself into a crouch while watching its every movement.
Throb.
Just that slight movement knocked the breath out of me, was one of my ribs broken?
I groped, making my way across the grounds while attempting to conceal my pain.
There was more than one egg.
It was strange.
