Chapter 3

From the way Raymond looked at the apprentice, Alice knew that something was very different from before.

Gone were the days when Raymond's eyes were dull and lifeless.

Now, they blazed with a fiery intensity, exuding a sense of superiority.

"Look at these crazy bastards!"

The moment he said that, Alice felt like she couldn't breathe.

She knew he had changed, but she never expected him to talk like that.

She looked between Raymond, wearing a cold smile, and the apprentice wizards.

"How dare you dogs bark at your own master?"

Alice observed the scene in silence.

***

Not all trash people are the same.

Some bow their heads to those a bit stronger than them and oppress those below them.

'There are also those who bare their teeth at anyone.'

The original Raymond was called incompetent trash for a reason.

He spoke harshly to those weaker than him and sometimes used violence but wouldn't do anything to those stronger.

In other words, Raymond, a 1st Circle wizard, couldn't do anything to the household's apprentice wizards, who were 2nd Circle wizards.

It was an attitude befitting truly incompetent trash. But that was him; I was different.

As long as I lived as Raymond, many things would have to become different.

Because the 'trash' I would act as was the real, but classy, type.

'Classy trash... that's funny.'

Even if I am trash, I have received successor’s training and would never allow myself to be trampled upon by someone inferior to me.

Now, how should I bring them to their knees?

"How dare you dogs bark at your master?"

Were my words that shocking?

The apprentice wizards looked at me in disbelief. They didn't seem to understand the current situation at all.

I could understand that reaction, thinking back to what kind of guy Raymond was.

The original Raymond would have shrunken back at their words, so why was he here, suddenly calling them out? Who wouldn’t be taken aback?

Anyone who knew Raymond would be.

"Young Master...?"

Voices mixed with confusion and embarrassment called to me.

Still, it was funny to see them keep calling me Young Master just because I was the son of the Count.

Their attitude does not fit their words at all.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"What do you mean dogs, Young Master? You’ve gone too far."

"That was very insulting. We’d like you to formally apologize."

The apprentice wizards hardened their eyes and glared at me.

That was even funnier.

It was also annoying to see the guys who would shut up in front of the Count acting arrogantly to me.

"Don't be ridiculous."

Although they called me Young Master, they had never recognized Raymond.

Just like now.

"Young Master! We can't stay still if you refuse to back down."

With a confused frown, one of the apprentice wizards raised their arm.

Mana began to swirl around their hand, and the air around them shifted slightly.

They were getting ready to cast a spell.

I was worried, but I kept my cool and kept up my act.

"So, you intend to use magic against me inside my family's house?”

That would be ridiculous.

The Millennium Household was one of the most famous in the kingdom.

What would others think if they saw that they were trying to use magic against Raymond Millennium inside the Millennium residence?

"This is clearly a show of rebellion."

I glanced over to Alice.

Alice, who was preparing for an emergency, immediately bowed her head.

"It's clearly a show of rebellion, which makes it a matter to be officially reported to His Excellency the Count."

Even though she said that the apprentice wizards only snorted.

"So what if you tell him? Do you think he will protect his incompetent son over actually talented wizards?"

Look at the way he talks. It really gets on my nerves.

"Daniel, watch your mouth. And put that hand down right now."

Alice warned in a low voice, but I raised a hand to stop her from stepping forward.

Alice immediately ground to a stop at my actions.

The two apprentices smirked at me. They probably thought I had stopped Alice because I feared his magic.

"What if I don't? If I use even simple magic like this, will our incompetent Young Master be able to block it?"

He dissed me just now, right? To my face?

I was speechless at how clearly I could tell what he thought of me.

'Why is he acting out all of a sudden?'

Next to him, the other apprentice wizard raised their arm, preparing to cast a spell.

There's a limit to everything.

And they had gone far beyond that reasonable level.

"Try it."

"Young Master, what...?"

Flustered by my challenge, Alice stepped forward to stop me, but now wasn’t the time for her to interrupt.

I stopped her and snapped my finger at those bastards.

I didn't forget to give them a sly smile while I did it.

Daniel and the other apprentice frowned. They weren’t able to tell what I was thinking.

"Are you chickening out now that I told you to do it?"

I deliberately provoked him; then I calculated the distance to Daniel.

I was by no means bluffing; I wasn’t that irresponsible.

I thoroughly analyzed and reviewed my memories of 'The Ruler of Talent' over the past few days.

Of course, I had a plan for these kinds of situations.

"Do you think I can't do it…?"

"Do it. Then I’ll show you what happens when dogs bark."

"You bastard...!"

Eventually, Daniel couldn't stand it and reached toward me.

Mana gathered in front of his palm.

"Magic Missile!"

Two arrows, about half the length of a normal one and made of Mana, formed in the air.

A heartbeat later, they blurred forward.

Facing them straight-on, I jumped toward them.

Alice opened her mouth in horror, but neither of the Magic Missiles struck. One passed by my arm and the other near my head.

"What the…?"

Daniel, taken aback, tried to say something, but the words turned into a gasp as my fist slammed into his ribs.

Whack.

Daniel's face crumpled with a wheeze.

"Ugh!"

It was a good hit. As soon as I realized that, I slightly twisted my body.

Another volley of Magic Missiles whizzed past and slammed into the wall.

The apprentice wizard next to Daniel hesitated before conjuring another spell.

"How dare you!"

I raised my leg and kicked the apprentice in the gut.

The movements that I couldn't even pull off as an actor were now effortless.

My body moved so fluidly that it followed my thoughts without hesitation, and then I drove my elbow into Daniel's nose.

Crack.

The sound of something breaking reverberated through my arm.

Daniel had tried to cast a spell when I kicked the other apprentice wizard, so a faint spark appeared in the air before fizzling out.

"Argh!"

Daniel screamed.

Even with that roar of pain, I didn't feel anything. Raising my fist, I swung it at that bastard's face again.

Puck.

He flinched and collapsed, his face a mess of blood.

"A-Argh!"

Daniel screamed and waved his arms randomly to stop my next punch.

Had he thought to use magic then, the outcome might have been different. But it seemed he hadn't.

Meanwhile, I spotted the other apprentice creeping up behind me, arm raised.

I quickly ducked my head at the tingle I felt across the back of my skull.

Crash.

A Magic Missile passed overhead and hit the decorations hanging on the wall.

A chill ran down my spine as a cold sweat beaded on my forehead.

If I had been a fraction of a second slower, I would have been killed by that spell.

My legs quivered and I almost crumpled to the ground, but I managed to stay upright.

After my body stiffened from the shock of almost dying, the fear dissipated, and I was able to calm down quickly.

To be more exact, it felt like my body was moving on its own.

As I spun around and kicked out, I briefly hovered in the air.

Puck.

I could feel ribs breaking under my feet.

The apprentice wizard fell back with a kick to the chest.

"Gasp."

As soon as I confirmed that he had fallen, I dropped my knee onto his shoulder as I crashed to the ground.

Crack.

"Kyargh!"

A grotesque scream rang out.

I pressed my hand against his neck and slowly stood up.

"If you're a dog, live like a dog… wag your tail."

Even I felt that it was too cold.

I got chills from my calm display, but turned around without showing it.

'Fortunately, I wasn't caught up in the moment.'

If I had been, I would still be swinging my fists, and their lives could be in danger.

I had no intention of committing murder.

"Young Master."

Alice approached with her gaze locked on my hands.

I looked down at my hands, attempting to shake the blood off. But Alice gently took my hands in hers and wrapped her handkerchief around them. She spoke softly as she tenderly wiped away the blood, her voice quivering slightly.

"I never imagined you would act like this."

I also didn't expect things to turn out this way.

I just remembered what was written in the book, and I thought that I would be able to defeat the 2nd Circle wizards by a narrow margin.

'I didn't expect it to be this overwhelming.'

I didn't say it aloud since she looked shocked enough already.

It was the first time she'd seen this radical side of me, who only lowered my head.

After ensuring she had wiped all the blood off me, I turned my head and looked around.

Traces of the Magic Missiles were everywhere, and Daniel and the other apprentice were lying on the floor.

"Ugh."

Daniel trembled with fear, clutching his face with one hand and waving in the air with his other.

The other apprentice wizard crouched down and groaned.

I couldn’t have thrown more than ten punches in my entire life, so I’d never seen so much blood.

Someone who had never properly fought before put the two of them in this condition.

Oddly enough, I didn't feel bad about it. Or good.

"You will be late for class. I'll sort things out here, so the Young Master should go quickly."

Alice urged me on.

I nodded and moved, remembering why I had come here.

After observing her for several days, I could tell she was a competent maid; one who genuinely cared about Raymond.

Alice would take care of this mess.

Standing in front of the Gate, the dazzling blue light hurt my eyes.

It was amazing that I could see the flow of Mana so clearly, but as I kept gazing at it, Alice noticed.

"Young Master, are you okay?"

"Yeah. I'm okay."

Nodding, I walked inside the Gate.

It was time to live as Raymond Millennium, the scumbag of the Millennium Household.

The unfortunate Swordsmanship prodigy born to famous Wizards.
