With going out to eat as an excuse, we dragged them into our net.
We acted normally. As if it was our first time out in the city, I bought and ate snacks from a street corner shop.
Then I went into another store and looked at several items.
To pretend that we hadn't noticed our tails, we slowly made our way into a shadowy area.
"Is there a place to eat in a place like this?"
"Yes. It is said that only those who know go there. It's in a very remote place you can't easily find unless you go with someone that’s been before."
"Ah, so I can be comfortable there."
There weren’t any restaurants, so a local would find a contradiction in her explanation.
But the place I ordered her to bring me to was empty.
She led me to the slums close to the city wall.
'That means they were brought in from the outside...'
If they were locals, they would have known where we were headed was the slums. And they would have known there were no good restaurants in the slum.
No matter which city you went to, slums existed, and to those cities, slums were a shame they would instead not look at.
