The Snake Canyon wasn’t vast, just big enough for five sturdy adult men to walk in single file.
To be honest, it wasn’t a good place for battle, but the original plan was like this:
I would lure the chieftain into the gorge.
The Elves would then use the power of their spirits to construct earthen walls to block the entrance, and I would escape with the protection of the traps the Red Hawks had set in advance.
Once I’ve gotten away from the chief, the Elves would coordinate a combined attack with the Red Hawks.
If the chief was weakened, Arjuna and Count Warrug would step forward and take his life.
If the rest of the Kairos tribe arrived to help their chieftain, those two would fight him while the rest of us blocked the reinforcements.
Then, when the chieftain was dead, we would deal with the rest together.
It was a solid enough plan. I didn't doubt its success.
