A Korean-American woman who was adopted by an American family and moved to the U.S. at the age of six, had become a self-made leading female businesswoman who had achieved the American dream.
As she became an adult at the age of 20, Choi Soo-jin started putting together seed money by working part-time at a downtown clothing store in LA. By the time she was 27, she had acquired her own 80-meter-square store marking the start of her first business.
Since then, she had launched the fast fashion brand REMEMBER21, and now had about 950 stores in North America. Her business had grown into a super-large company with annual sales of nearly $8 billion.
She was ranked 24th by Forbes as one of the most influential women in the world and was one of the leading American female self-made entrepreneurs.
