Christmas at Bluebird Orphanage
“Dashing through the snow~ In a one-horse open sleigh~ O’er the fields we go~ Laughing all the way~”
“Jingle bells, jingle bells, Jingle all the way~”
Christmas carols and children’s laughter echoed throughout the Bluebird Orphanage.
The children sat huddled together and wrote Christmas cards while the Christmas trees and decorations they had lovingly decorated inside twinkled.
Director Kang An-na drew the children’s attention.
“Attention! Everyone, today is a joyful Christmas day. As it’s a special day, we’re going to cook our own food.”
“Whoaaa! It’s going to be so much fun.”
The children were excited and jumped up and down, clapping their hands at Director Kang’s words.
When children asked for help, volunteers went around and helped them prepare the ingredients, letting them, if possible, take the initiative in the kitchen.
Most of them were prepared using simple meal kits, making it simple and enjoyable for kids to cook.
“Now, shall we eat?”
“Whoa! It looks good.”
Volunteers and children shared the cooked spicy rice...
