"I'll light it. I brought a yucca."
"A yucca? What's that?"
"It's an excellent plant for making a fire. It has a higher ignition propensity than other plants."
Everyone's faces brightened when Kyu-ha mentioned he could make a fire. They watched him closely as he cut the yucca in half, removed the ends, and split the plant lengthwise. Kyu-ha placed dried grass, prepared with flints, on top of the yucca.
He repeated the process for the other half. Then he pressed it tightly, ensuring air would flow between the two pieces of wood. The finished contraption was secured with a large stone, and he began sawing with a long piece of wood.
Rustle, rustle.
After some time, smoke appeared little by little. The embers, caused by friction, ignited the pile of dried grass, which burst into flames.
"Wow! It's fire."
"I never realized how wonderful it is to have a fire. From now on, I should be grateful when turning on the gas light."
"Since it's our first day, I don't think we'll be able to eat much, so let's prepare something simple."
