Daniel grimaced and turned to Ian.
Ian hurriedly stepped back and was busy dodging the monster’s attack to answer Daniel.
“Keuk.”
A sharp thing passed by Ian’s leg.
Ian frowned, then kicked off the ground, leaping into the air.
The sand bounced right under him again.

A huge mouth came out of the sand and went back in.
If he hadn't jumped right away, he would have been eaten up by the monster.
“Daniel, can you do something?”
“Hold on, distract it!”
“What do you think I’m doing?”
Instead of the small staff he usually used against people, Daniel was preparing for magic with a larger staff.
He needed time to finish it, so he asked Ian to distract the monster.
