The final test began.
Irene grimaced at the massive silver snake lying dead in front of her.
"Gosh, I was surprised it tried to eat me as soon as it was summoned."
Irene, shivering at the thought, stepped out of the cave, casually swinging her sword.
Her familiar, startled, flapped its wings and settled atop her head.
"Sparrow, which way should we go from here?"
"Chirp, chirp."
As Sparrow responded, Irene gently stroked its head and slowly began to walk away.
Monsters lurked around her, preparing to strike, but Irene scattered mana around the area, warning them off.
The fearsome monsters didn't dare to attack rashly.
They waited until they had enough numbers, attacking only when they felt they could take her safely.
Irene moved, already anticipating their strategy, and took them down individually.
Gurgle. Squawk. Chirp.
Dozens, then hundreds of monsters attacked Irene and lost their lives.
