"Who just said... something?"
One of the men in the center looked around.
They had been arguing about how unprepared they were, but Ian was surprised to see them react so sensitively to his murmuring. Still, he took a step forward.
"It was me."
"I've never seen you before."
The man glanced Ian up and down.
It wasn't a polite gaze, so Ian frowned and had to ease his expression blankly.
Ian didn't like him right off the get-go.
Veilant stepped up next to Ian and said.
"He's the one I told you about before."
"Ah-ha. The one who took care of the Giant Silver Snake?"
"Yes. He’s the one."
"But why is he here? I'm not sure if he's entitled to take part in this meeting."
"He has great power, better than the knights, so based on what you said the other day... He's eligible."
